The KUMA × KUMAS West Midlands Welcome Social took place on 25th October 2025 at Local Korean Restaurant in Selly Oak, Birmingham(the Kimchi), bringing together Korean doctors and medical students from the University of Birmingham and Aston Medical School. The event provided valuable opportunities for mentoring, networking, and community building.
KUMA doctors from various specialties across major West Midlands hospitals, including the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham and MMUH, offered tailored advice on specialty training, portfolios, and career development. Senior medical students also supported freshers by sharing university guidance, study resources, and practical tips on adapting to life in medical school.
The evening fostered meaningful connections across all levels of training, strengthening the Korean medical community in the West Midlands.
