Membership Training + Academic Conference 2025
The highly anticipated KUMA Academic Meeting took place on 11th October 2025 in Derby. This year’s event was held with KUMAS, uniting doctors and medical students from across the UK under a shared commitment to academic growth and professional networking.
The day kicked off with an engaging academic session, featuring an insightful talk on delivering effective academic presentations. This was followed by a series of high-quality oral and poster presentations from both doctors and students, showcasing research across a wide range of medical specialties.
After a highly competitive and thoughtful evaluation process, the Certificate of Recognition was awarded to Ji-min Han (University of Bristol). Congratulations! Well done!
In the evening, attendees came together for a lively dinner and networking session, providing an excellent platform for meaningful discussions, mentorship opportunities, and the exchange of ideas between students and professionals.
Thanks to In-seong, who took charge of the grocery shopping with kindness and a great sense of responsibility, and to all the cooperative and dedicated friends who helped with the preparations, everyone enjoyed a truly delicious dinner. With perfectly grilled meat and a warm, welcoming atmosphere, participants shared laughter, conversation, and friendship over the meal.
To conclude the day on a lighthearted note, a series of group activities and games brought plenty of laughter and friendly competition, helping everyone relax and build a genuine sense of community.
Overall, the day was a great success, celebrating academic excellence, professional growth, and the shared spirit of togetherness. We look forward to continuing this wonderful tradition and welcoming even more participants at future gatherings.
