KUMA delivered a first aid and health awareness training day for teachers at the London Korean School (LKS).
The session combined brief presentations with practical, hands-on training, providing an engaging and valuable learning experience for all attendees.

On 1st November 2025, KUMA organised and delivered an educational health awareness day to the teachers at the London Korean School. The session comprised of short introductory presentations on common first aid topics before breaking out into three groups and alternating between these groups for more practical teaching. 6 Members of KUMA attended and helped facilitate a session each, and there were around 30 teachers attending from London Korean School.

The first session explained topics such as dealing with minor injuries, anaphylaxis and the use of the EpiPen. Teachers were firstly asked on their existing knowledge on these topics - although there was a variety of knowledge amongst the teachers, each session covered the basics and management succinctly and clearly which helped alleviate any worries and questions. The teachers also had the opportunity to practice using an EpiPen.

For the second part of the session, teachers divided into three groups and alternated between three stations, covering topics of CPR, choking, using an AED and the recovery position. Being in smaller groups allowed the teachers to informally and comfortably ask questions, as well as being able to have hands on practice on mannequins and dummies. Teachers commented that the practice was especially useful - for example, they found that the depth of compressions in CPR was a lot deeper than what they had thought.
The session concluded with a ‘take home message’ from all the topics covered and time for any questions. All KUMA members agreed that all teachers in attendance were enthusiastic, engaged thoroughly throughout the session and were eager to ask questions. Overall, it was a successful and meaningful session both to KUMA and to the London Korean School. Going forward, KUMA looks forward to providing ongoing educational support for the Korean community.
