2025 KUMA Female Leaders' Conference

As the first event of 2025, the KUMA Female Leaders Conference took place at the Old Bank of England in London on February 15th. The event featured discussions on the history of KUMA, the inequalities in UK and Korean healthcare systems, prominent female leaders in medicine globally, and the contributions of female leaders in Korean and world history.
2025년 2월 15일 KUMA가 런던 Old Bank of England 에서 여성 리더 컨퍼런스를 개최했습니다. 올해 첫 번째 이벤트인 이날 모임에는 여러 의사분들이 참석해 주셔서 각자의 경험을 공유해주셨습니다. 재영 한인 의사협회의 연혁과 단체로서의 역할, 한국과 영국 의료 시스템 내의 의사와 환자들이 겪는 불평등, 여성 리더들이 전 세계적으로 의료 뿐 만 아니라 역사에 기여한 이야기를 나누는 뜻깊은 시간을 가졌습니다.
The conference provided a platform for both female and male members to come together, fostering a harmonious network and encouraging diverse perspectives on these important topics. Our KUMA members shared their experiences and insights on leadership, resilience, and the challenges faced by women in the medical field. Panel sessions explored themes such as mentorship, breaking barriers, and the future of female leadership in healthcare. Attendees engaged in meaningful discussions, strengthening connections and emphasizing the importance of collaboration. The event concluded with a renewed commitment to promoting gender equality and supporting the next generation of female leaders in medicine.
이번 컨퍼런스는 KUMA 여성과 남성 회원들이 함께 모여
조화를 이루며 네트워크를 형성하고, 다양한 관점에서 해당 주제를 깊이 있게 논의할 수 있는 플랫폼을 제공했습니다. KUMA 회원들은 의료 분야에서 여성 리더로서 겪은 경험과 리더십, 회복탄력성, 그리고 직면한 도전 과제들에 대한 통찰을 공유했습니다. 패널 세션에서는 멘토십, 장벽 극복, 그리고 의료계에서 여성 리더십의 미래 등 다양한 주제를 심도 있게 논의했습니다. 참석자들은 뜻깊은 대화를 나누며 연대감을 형성하고 협력의 중요성을 다시 한번 확인했습니다. 행사는 성평등 증진과 차세대 여성 리더 지원을 위한 새로운 다짐과 함께 성공적으로 마무리 되었습니다.

As part of the event, we held an engaging quiz covering a wide range of topics, including global medicine, KUMA history, politics, literature, and entertainment. It was a fun and interactive way for members to test their knowledge and learn from one another.
A special thanks to Ji-in for creating excellent slides and questions, and to Ho Suk and Minjin for leading the quiz as wonderful hosts, making the quiz both enjoyable and informative!
